Men of Character. “Character is that which reveals moral purpose, exposing the class of things a man chooses and avoids.” — Aristotle, Greek philosopher Pi Kappa Phi strives to build better men. Placing emphasis on the tenants of good character through moral courage, the pursuit of noble goals and commitment in the face of adversity. A man of true character displays moral and ethical strength in any situation. Pi Kappa Phi is looking for men who display such strength - through personal integrity, ultimate respect and selflessness. A Man who demonstrates strength in character is a man who has truly chosen to lead by setting an example for others to follow. This man is an ideal Pi Kappa Phi.
Men of Leadership. “A leader must have a willingness to go in his own direction. A founding father is, by definition, a leader. He challenges the system and creates a fraternity different from any other on campus.” Pi Kappa Phi has a special arrangement with the Covey Institute. The Leadership Institute features corporate-level leadership training based upon the Stephen R. Covey best-selling book. LIFE 401 is a dynamic career and life success seminar designed by Brother John Spence, a fortune 100 consultant. This opportunity will help you plan for your future after graduation.
Men of Academics. “My personal experience is that Pi Kappa Phi has not hindered my scholastic achievement, but rather promoted academics and the need for a strong work ethic.” Every Pi Kapp has access to a paid and trained Academic Coach. This member of the University of South Alabama staff is a resource to help you achieve at your academic potential.
Pi Kappa Phi competes to win, but not all costs. There is a right way and a wrong way. The right way involves displaying sportsmanship-through dedication to your team, respect for your opponent and dignity in winning and losing. Your conduct and attitude as a sportsman speak to your quality as an individual. Whether in competition on the intramural field or on stage during Greek Week, Pi Kappa Phi is looking for those individuals who strive to compete with sportsmanship at all times.
Men of Service. Pi Kappa Phi remains the only fraternity to have created, owns, and operates its own national philanthropy – Push America. And you have many, many ways to get involved in community service through special programs exclusive to Push America. |
